What we do
GREENSHIELD Pest Control works in homes, holiday rentals, villas, hotels and food businesses in Thessaloniki, Halkidiki and Pieria. The responsible scientist is Athanasios Fotiou, an agronomist with licence no. 8191 from the Greek Ministry of Rural Development and Food. He designs every treatment and signs every treatment record, including the short-term rental certificate.

Renting out a property short-term? The law now asks for a certificate
Since 1 October 2025, Greek law 5170/2025 (article 3) requires every property rented short-term, whether on Airbnb, Booking or any other platform, to have a valid pest and rodent control certificate issued by a licensed company. The fine for the manager of the property is €5,000, and it doubles to €10,000 for a new violation within a year. Each address needs its own certificate. How we work
We do not spray a whole home just to be seen doing something. We first find out where the pests live and why they are there, and then treat only those points.
- Free inspection: we identify the pest, the source and the entry points
- Targeted treatment: gel in cracks, targeted spraying of perimeter points, closed bait stations for rodents
- Nothing is ever applied to surfaces that come into contact with food
- Written instructions on ventilation time and prevention
- A follow-up check to see that the treatment has worked
