Who we work with
Hotels, restaurants, tavernas, cafés, bars, bakeries, patisseries, supermarkets, food stores, warehouses and food production units in Thessaloniki, Halkidiki and Pieria. For a food business, a fly on a table can cost you a review and a wasp in the courtyard can cost you a customer. An inspection without a proper file can cost far more.
The HACCP / EFET documentation file
When the Hellenic Food Authority (EFET) or a health inspector visits, they do not ask whether you have seen a cockroach. They ask for the file. Regulation (EC) 852/2004 requires food businesses to protect against pests with a documented programme, and the pest control part of your HACCP system has to be backed by paperwork that is signed by a responsible scientist.
We deliver a complete file, not just a receipt:
- Treatment programme and record of visits
- Floor plan with numbered monitoring and bait points
- A written treatment record for every visit, with the products and their approval numbers
- Product licences and safety data sheets
- Record of findings from the monitoring traps
- Signature and licence number of the responsible agronomist, Athanasios Fotiou, licence no. 8191 of the Greek Ministry of Rural Development and Food
Regular programmes
Pest management is a programme, not a single visit. We work on Integrated Pest Management principles: monitoring with traps, recording what we find and treating only where there is a documented need. In kitchens and food areas we prefer gel and closed bait stations to general spraying, and nothing is ever applied to surfaces that come into contact with food.
Each programme starts with a free inspection and a written proposal. The number of visits depends on your type of business, the size of the premises and the number of critical points. We schedule visits after closing time or before opening, so the ventilation time is respected without losing working hours. For urgent cases in Thessaloniki we arrive in less than 5 hours.
Bed bug protocol for hotels
Bed bugs travel in guests' luggage, and a single case can end up in a public review. For hotels and rooms to let, we work room by room:
- Inspection of mattress seams, headboards, sofa beds and furniture joints in the affected room
- Check of the neighbouring rooms, because bed bugs spread from one room to the next within days
- Targeted treatment of the affected room, usually in two or three phases
- Clear instructions for housekeeping: do not move mattresses, linen or furniture from the affected room to other rooms
- A written record for each room treated
Your documents in one place
Every business customer gets a personal online portal. It holds the visit history, the treatment records, the product licences and safety data sheets, and the invoices, together with the photo insect-identification tool. It can be installed on a phone like an app. Everything an inspection asks for, in one place.
Halkidiki hotels and seasonal businesses
Our Halkidiki base in Kassandreia lets us cover hotels, tavernas and other seasonal businesses across Kassandra, Sithonia and the rest of the peninsula. For seasonal premises, we plan the first treatment before opening, when the buildings are still empty and rodents and cockroaches have had all winter to settle in.
Frequently asked questions
Do I need to close my business for the treatment?
In most cases, no. We schedule the treatment after closing time or before opening, so the ventilation time is respected without losing working hours.
Will the documents be accepted for my EFET file?
Our treatment record lists the products with their approval numbers, the treated points, the date and the signature of the responsible agronomist with his licence number. It is designed to go straight into your EFET file and HACCP system.
How much does a programme cost?
Prices for businesses start from €40 per visit. The final price for a programme is given after a free inspection, because it depends on the size of the premises, the critical points and how often we visit.
What do you do if a guest finds bed bugs?
We inspect the room and the neighbouring rooms, treat the affected room in targeted phases and give your housekeeping team clear instructions to help keep the problem from spreading to other rooms.
Do you cover hotels in Halkidiki?
Yes. From our base in Kassandreia we cover hotels and food businesses across Halkidiki, including Kassandra, Sithonia, Polygyros, Moudania and the Mount Athos side.
